I am SO excited to share that the 2026-2027 school year officially started September 14th!! While our school students enjoyed getting to spend their summer break playing hopscotch, jumprope, soccer, and of course extra time with friends and family- they were so very excited to put on new uniforms and head back to school! I've said it before but school really is that place where our students can dream about their futures and where they are challenged to ask questions and learn about a long line of subjects and topics. Our students know that getting to attend school is a privilege and that isn't something they take lightly. The first days of school are always extra fun getting to see friends, meeting new teachers, and I won't lie there are always some tears in the preschool too as the new little ones get adjusted. The first few weeks of school are always extra busy and just full of lots of transition and adjustment. The parents in our community work so hard to make sure their children are sent to school looking their very best and oh are they proud to watch them as they walk off to school! One of the favorite activities to celebrate the start of the new school year is a prayer service that is held in our church- all of our students, teachers, and staff gather together to pray over the upcoming school year. I can't think of a better way to start the year! The last few years haven't been easy in Haiti and yet in ways that are truly only God, He has made a way and is continuing to move and work in the Chambrun community in big ways. We are all so very thankful for the start of the 2026-2027 school year- to watch as our students learn, grow, and achieve their dreams and goals! - Brooke
