Education
“Without education a family cannot succeed, a village cannot succeed, a country cannot succeed.” Education has proven to be a key factor in breaking the poverty cycle, which is one of the many reasons why it stands as one of our four pillars.
Nehemiah Christian Academy opened in 2005 with only 25 students and a dream: to provide the children in the surrounding area with the opportunity of a better future. Since those early days God has grown our little school and made those dreams a reality. We now have over 450 students in attendance, spanning from preschool to 13th grade.
Then NVM heard that the Grand Rac Academy (Institute Chretienne Mixte Joseph Luquerne Pierre) was faced with closing their doors, leaving their 200+ students with no where to go. As our founder Esperandieu Pierre grew up in that village, he understood the devastation this would bring to the entire community. As a result, NVM adopted the academy in 2016. It is our hope to see the students there flourish for many years to come.
We firmly believe that today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders and strive to provide an education worthy of that in both of our academies.
