Frequent Questions

FAQ & Important Information

Have you ever had a question and didn’t know where to find the answer? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

- What Does Your Organization Do? -

NVM exists under the motto of "Bringing darkness to light."

As Pastor Pierre says, "We strive to bring people from where they are, to where God intends for them to be." To learn more specific ways on how we do that, visit our What We Do section.

-How Can I Get Involved? -

We’re always on the lookout for individuals like you wanting to get involved. Visit our How To Help section to find out ways to donate or volunteer.

-What Is Your Organization's Privacy Policy? -

Our organization takes our privacy policy seriously and takes steps to protect and ensure the safety of our supporters. We do not sell or otherwise disclose information about our volunteers or supporters outside of our immediate organization. This policy has no exceptions. We do not sell or exchange your information with any other organizations, public, private or nonprofit.

- If I Were To Donate Funds, How Is My Money Used? -

We have a responsibility to our community and our donors and work hard to ensure long-term sustainability of the organization. We make our IRS Form 990 available for review, as required by law. To see our Form 990 click on the link below!

- How Do I Update My Donation Information If My Credit/Debit Card Is Lost Or Cancelled? -

The simplest way to update your information is to go to our "donate" page and select “Child Sponsorship” from the drop down menu. Then fill out the form for a monthly gift of $40 per sponsored student. (Multiple sponsorships may be processed as one lump sum, or spread out over the month, as you prefer.) The first month’s gift will process immediately, but you may request a specific day of the month for future gifts to process.  This process just updates your gift information—you will continue to sponsor the same student.

- What Language Do People Speak In Haiti? -

The most common language you will hear if you come visit us is Haitian Kreyol. This language is best described as a combination of French and various African dialects. (French is still used in the professional sphere such as government and schools.) If you would like to learn more before visiting, we have a downloadable link below where you can see some common phrases translated into Haitian Kreyol!
